Konica Big Mini F Review Is It As Good As It Looks? By Thang Nguyen

Konica Big Mini BM-201's design must've been an inspiration for one of the smallest and most capable point-and-shoot cameras ever made: Minolta TC-1. Launched six years prior, Big Mini featured a sharp 𝒇3.5 lens in a handsome package complete with autofocus, autoexposure, and a very simple yet effective selection of compensation and flash modes.

How I Used It. Konica Big Mini (BM-201) and a roll of Fuji Pro 400H which I didn't use for any of the photos below. The Big Mini is shaped like a bar of soap. It's very sleek, with power and shutter buttons on top as well as several buttons on the back for mode, timer, and rewind. The buttons, lens, and flash are all flush with the body.

Konica Big Mini BM-302 is a compact 35mm film point-and-shoot with an auto close-up feature. The camera's sharp 𝒇3.5 35mm lens is supplemented with an auto-variable flash system for those subdued-light situations. I love BM-302's clean design, operational simplicity, and the results it creates, including those taken with the close-up (macro) lens.

In parallel, there were famous models with zoom lenses like the Big Mini BM-310Z or BM-610Z, which were never favorites among enthusiasts. These cameras were more intended for the consumer market.

Konica Big Mini - This shot shows fine edge to edge sharpness Overall, I like the Konica Big Mini. It does a solid job and if you see one for a good price, I recommend it as a decent point-and-shoot option. I guess you might ask whether you should choose a Konica Big Mini or an Olympus Mju II.

The Big Mini 21 is a rather obscure point-and-shoot camera with a fixed 30mm f/4.5 lens produced by Konica around 1994. Sharing nothing physically in common with any other Konica product of the 1990s, and with the manual so far MIA on the internet, the BM-21 remains somewhat of a mystery in terms of functionality.
